Some of our mealworms have changed into pupae.
We were busy wondering what they would change into next and how long it would take when....
They changed again!
Our mealworms are growing up and becoming adults!
Can you guess what they have become?
We were going to have a competition to see who could guess when they would change but our sneaky mealworms changed before we even got any entries.
Now we will have to change our competition.
To enter all you need to do is:
1. Follow our blog.
2. Leave a comment to say what you think the mealworms have become and how many adults we will have by next Friday, 2nd March.
3. Wait and see who wins.
The winner will get a certificate.
If no-one guesses the exact number, then whoever is the closest will win.

Hi 2C I think they will turn into mealworm beetles and then the life cycle will begin again if the beetle lays eggs. It has been so great to hear all about the mealworms especially about the eyes and if they can smell. I think you will have 20 beetles by Friday. Good work 2C.

ReplyDeleteI also think they will turn into beetles but I’m not sure what colour they will be. I’m guessing maybe black or brown? I think there will be 15 beetles by Friday.
